Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge, skills, and awareness of students in the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Karimun University, regarding traditional Malay games from the Riau Islands. The methods used included cultural socialization, game demonstrations, hands-on practice, and group reflection. Some of the games introduced included the long pole, congkak, gasing, and jong. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of the history, rules of the games, and the cultural values ​​contained within them. Furthermore, students demonstrated high enthusiasm throughout the activity and expressed their readiness to reintroduce traditional games to students when they become elementary school teachers. This activity demonstrates that universities have a strategic role in maintaining the sustainability of local cultural heritage through an educational approach that directly involves the younger generation
