Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the role and implementation of educational technology, particularly assistive technology, in promoting the transformation of inclusive and adaptive special education (PLB) in Indonesia. The research method used is a literature review and case analysis study on technology implementation in inclusive schools. The findings indicate that assistive technology plays a critical role in reducing learning barriers for children with special needs (ABK), enabling full participation in the learning environment. However, its effectiveness is still hampered by weak teacher competency and infrastructure access. This article concludes that technology integration in PLB requires a holistic ecosystem approach, including continuous teacher training, responsive curriculum development, and collaboration between the government, the educational technology (EdTech) industry, and the community. This transformation is in line with efforts to build scientific character, scientific culture, and scientific solutions within the national educational science and technology ecosystem.
